Welcome to attend the Annual Meeting of Chinese Geoscience Union (CGU) and join in session 150: International Lithosphere Program –– Progress and Opportunities

We are very glad to welcome you to attend the Annual Meeting of Chinese Geoscience Union (CGU) in Hangzhou from Oct. 17 to Oct. 21 in 2026, and participate inSession 150: International Lithosphere Program: Progress and Opportunities. We invite colleagues to submit abstracts and share the important progress on the structure, composition and evolution of the lithosphere and its interaction with Earth’s spheres.
Abstract submission deadline:Aug. 15, 2026
More information can be found from the website: http://www.cgu.org.cn
Co-conveners: Qin Wang at Nanjing University (南京大学 王勤), Zhonghai Li at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (中国科学院大学 李忠海), and Liang Zhao at Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (中科院地质与地球物理研究所 赵亮)
ILP is committed to promoting interdisciplinary international collaboration on the nature, origin, and dynamic evolution of the lithosphere, advancing theoretical innovation, technological revolution and data sharing, and addressing the demands of global change and societal development (e.g., energy and environment, earthquake disasters, etc.). The target areas of ILP include: global change and Earth system science, geodynamics and deep processes, the formation and evolution of the continental and oceanic lithosphere, and the impact of lithosphere research and topics of societal relevance. To encourage more Chinese scholars to participate in ILP and to carry out interdisciplinary lithospheric research through international comparison and cooperation, this session will share the latest progress of ILP projects, and explore the feasibility of organizing international collaboration projects through ILP.
