As the world leading geologist and the past president of International Lithosphere Program,Prof. Sierd Cloetingh at Utrecht University (Netherlands) was invited to visit Bureau of International Lithosphere Program at Nanjing University. During his visit, he will give lectures in a seminar of “Deep Processes and Fluid/Melt Activity in the Continental Lithosphere” to graduate students and young researchers in China. Dr. Alexander Koptev at GFZ (Germany) and Dr. Sylvie Demouchy at CNRS and Université Clermont Auvergne (France) are also invited to give lectures. This seminar will introduce the major research methods, progress and challenges in study of continental lithosphere, and organize reference reading and debates of students on different hot topics.
